Milestones

OK, I’m back and ready to go. Perhaps the fact that I’m actually writing another blog is a milestone in itself. So I join the ranks of delinquent fellow-bloggers Braden, Shane – and Marsha!!! – and make an appearance to let you know we’re still alive and kicking.

First order of business: a big thanks to those of you who still faithfully check the blog for updates. It has been a long time since I have put anything worth reading on here, but I’m glad to know there are still many of you out there who are interested enough to connect.

Second thing … check out this website. But check it out after you read the blog because it’s kinda long and in all the hilarity you might forget to come back and read the rest of the blog:
http://www.chumfm.com/MorningShow/bits/march24.swf. My brother-in-law emailed it to us the other day. Even though I’ve heard this before, it was just as funny the second time through. Pee-in-your-pants funny! A small token to say thank you and put on a smile on your face for those of you who have waited this long for an update.

Kaitlyn has reached a few milestones over the last little while. A couple of weeks ago, she started crawling. It’s more like an army-crawl where she uses one leg as leverage to push herself forward. Nonetheless, she crawls around like a snake trying to … well … get away from whatever eats snakes.

Just yesterday, she pulled herself all the way up to stand against her toy box. She stood there for about 10 minutes trying to figure out what to do next, but she got up and right now, that’s all that matters.

Oh yeah, the jury’s back … Kaitlyn officially has more hair than I do! To my credit though, I still have more teeth. But she’s catching up quickly there, too. She went through a teething phase a week or so ago that resulted in less sleep for everyone. Normally, she drools like she’s just been to the dentist to have her gums frozen, but this time was different. No drool-pool, just new teeth and a little bit of crying. We can handle that if it means she won’t look like a hillbilly when she smiles.

I was home sick from work yesterday and watched “The West Wing.” Not too shabby. I’ve been wanting to watch it for a while, but never got around to it. It’s one of those shows that has way too much history behind it to pick it up part way through, like 24 or Alias. But I’m gonna give it the ol’ college try and see if I can dive in without belly-flopping. I’m not sure what that means or how it applies to anything I’ve just written.

OK, I think that’s it for today. We have some video footage of Kaitlyn that we will feebly attempt to post on the blog in the next little while. Thanks for checking in. Now you can go and click on that website, but pack an extra pair of underwear or an adult diaper … consider this your warning. Talk at ya soon.

Seacrest out.
